Here we are with our 1 year old! Caden was a little under the weather for his first birthday - he had a fever on and off today. That didn't stop him from enjoying his birthday party! We kept it a simple family affair, with Caden's aunts, uncles, cousin and our good friend Ms. Janet over for dinner and cake.

Caden's cake (pictured with lion face) and his "Smash cake" were made by our neighbor, Darcy, of Cakes By Darcy. She makes beautiful cakes! They were absolutely delicious.
Caden's not sure why everyone is singing and looking at him. You can see the worry in his face (The singing scared him!)
"Mama, why is everyone singing that scary song?!" 
At first, Caden didn't want anything to do with his little cake, and he wouldn't even taste the frosting. He just wanted to play with it a little bit. I finally got him to take a tiny bite of cake and he decided he might like it after all!
